Ranbir Kapoor is an Indian film actor. He is the son of popular Hindi film actor Rishi Kapoor and actress Neetu Singh. He was born on September 28, 1982 in Mumbai. His sister Riddhima is a designer. He is the great grandson of Prithiviraj Kapoor, a renowned Indian film actor and the grandson of Raj Kapoor, a well known Bollywood actor. His uncles Shashi Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor and Rajiv Kapoor have all acted in a large number of films. His cousins Karishma and Kareena are also famous Indian film actresses.Ranbir finished his schooling from Bombay Scottish School and graduated from Le Strasberg Institute in New York. Ranbir started his career as an assistant director and has assisted in the Hindi films such as PremGranth (1996), Aa Ab Laut Chalen (1999) and Black (2005). He has also assisted in the direction of the film A Passion To Love (2002).Ranbir started his acting career as a supporting actor and has acted in films such as A Passion To Love (2002) and Karma or India, 1964 (2004). He got the leading role as a hero with the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed Hindi film Saawariya (2007), opposite newcomer Sonam Kapoor, the daughter of well known Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor.
